Dimitris is the Chief Commercial Officer at Welcome Pickups, a leading global travel technology company operating in over 100 countries. Based in Athens, Dimitris is a seasoned sales and marketing executive with more than 15 years of experience across three continents, having worked extensively in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Dimitris holds a marketing degree from the American College of Greece and began his career in marketing consulting, advising multinational clients in Athens and New York. He later transitioned to the Middle East, where he held senior commercial positions with Emirates Airlines, Travelport, and Qatar Airways, focusing on commercial strategy, distribution, and international growth. He also holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
Beyond his role at Welcome Pickups, Dimitris is actively involved in the global business and entrepreneurial community. He serves on the Global Alumni Advisory Board of The American College of Greece, supporting students and alumni worldwide. Additionally, he is a mentor for Techstars Middle East, helping startups refine their business models, develop commercial strategies, and create go-to-market plans. Dimitris is also a mentor for the SITA intrapreneurship program, where he guides teams in designing and launching innovative projects within one of the world’s largest travel tech companies.
