Richard is a sustainability specialist with a background blending Social Enterprise, Communications and Impact.
After a spell as a screen media analyst, in 2000 he co-founded a not-for-profit tasked with transforming the quality of housing, urban design and communities across the UK. Over the next decade, stakeholder engagement initiatives across government, private and public sectors included conferences, published research and collaborative interventions to transform planning system processes, resulting in measurable impacts to quality delivery of housing and community wellbeing.
During this time he presented and directed over 50 educational films to spread lessons learned directly from residents to future developments, many of which were screened internationally. This led to a decade of his own consultancy work with NGOs and companies on strategic impact communications, along with film production and documentary creation across social and commercial including for Microsoft, Santander, Expedia, Standard Chartered and The Economist.
In 2022 Richard joined the Investing for Purpose as Head of Impact & Education. He holds an MSc in Sustainable Regeneration from UCL and a Business Sustainability Management qualification from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership.
In his spare time he enjoys producing & directing independent documentaries, marble sculpting, sea swimming and long distance hikes with family & friends.
