Tourism Awards 2022 | Honorary award for CapsuleT

CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator, the first and only accelerator that focuses exclusively on technological startups in Greece – an initiative by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels –  received an honorary award for its activities and programs at the “Tourism Awards 2022” which where held on Monday, May 9 at the Foundation of the Hellenic World in presence of the Ministries of Tourism and Development & Investment representatives.

The honorary award was given to the Director of CapsuleT, Mrs. Katerina Saridaki by the Deputy Minister of Development & Investments, Mr. Christos Dimas in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels & inspirer of the accelerator, Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos.

Mrs. Saridaki addressing the full hall of travel & hospitality business owners, executives and other representatives of the sector stated: “It is an honor for us that the recognition of our efforts coincides with the end of 3 years of hard, but also organized work. A huge thank you to the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels for his continued support and guidence, to the Greek hoteliers for their support, to the CapsuleT team for its hard work, and of course to our strategic partners as well as our volunteers – mentors and speakers for their active participation and selfless contribution”.

Moreover, 3 Greek travel tech startups – all 1st place winners of the Acceleration Program – such as Vivestia, Campsaround and Hotellisense were there and enthusiastically showcased their innovative technological solutions to representatives of tourism at the CapsuleT stand, while the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Sofia Zaharaki and the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels., Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos visited them at CapsuleT’s stand.

CapsuleT started its activities and programs in 2019 and since has completed:

– 4 acceleration program cycles

– 3 “Idea Platform” competitions

– 80 workshops on digital and business skills

– Over 1500 hours of mentoring sessions

– 35 on-site visits and numerous meetings with hotels & travel agencies

– 29 participations at events & trade shows in Greece and abroad

In just 3 years of operation, CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator has helped through its programs and initiatives 70 early stage start-ups and teams and their 174 founders which have successfully accomplished 39 pivots, 239 pilots in hotels and acquired 884 new clients. All of them managed to expand their network with 56 new advisors and more than 345 strategic partnerships as well.
