
The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels is taken over as an Institutional Supporter of “Elevate Greece”
The Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Christos Dimas and the President of The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos signed an Agreement of Cooperation.
The recompense and the guidance of startups in the field of tourism is in the center of the Agreement of Cooperation signed by the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Christos Dimas and the President of the Hellenic Chamber Hotels, Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos.
The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels having developed CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator, the first Greek accelerator for travel tech startups, and as a legal adviser of the State in the topic of tourism takes command as Institutional Supporter of the Greek government’s initiative “Elevate Greece” based on the Agreement of Cooperation.
The initiative “Elevate Greece” has as a goal the cartography of startups through the National Startup Registry of the General Secretary of Research and Innovation of the Ministry of Development and Investments, and the designation of a powerful ecosystem of startups.
Based on the forecasts of the Agreement of Cooperation the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels as an Institutional Supporter of “Elevate Greece”:
A)Participates in the “National Awards of Startups”, offering specific financial rewards with a total value of 25,000 euros for startups in the sector of Tourism and Hospitality, which will focus on two main categories:
-Exports/National Development and Interconnection and
-Sustainability/Social Entrepreneurship in the Tourism Industry
The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels participates as the exclusive Legal Supporter in the specific category of Awards for the tourism sector with the opportunity to incorporate extra supporters in this category, following a common decision and understanding.
B)Participates in specific committees – meetings of “Elevate Greece” with a consulting character in tourism affairs.
C)Participates with speakers in yearly local or national events, thematic labs/seminars or/and mentoring of the winning businesses after the recording of essential programs of “Elevate Greece” and the communication with the Ministry of Development and the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation.
All the above actions will support businesses registered in the National Startup Registry and which will be pointed out by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation towards the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels or in businesses which the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels want to provide its services following the approval of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation.
Parallel to that, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels keeps active the acceleration program of CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator, and its operation will continue independently but also with the cooperation of “Elevate Greece”.
The Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Christos Dimas made the following statement:
“With a goal of further development of startups which are becoming active in the sector of Tourism, we signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Elevate Greece and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels. This cooperation targets the support, guidance and networking of the startups in a very competitive sector, as tourism is, which has a very important footprint in the Greek economy and society. The Hospitality Association with the network of businesses, the experience, the human dynamic acquired and the technical know-how in topics of entrepreneurship and innovation, expects to offer important motives, benefits and services to startups in the Elevate Greece which are related to the Tourism and Hospitality sector.”
The President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Mr. Alexandros Vasilikos made the following statement:

Utilizing the experience, the technical know-how and the good practices which have stood out through CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator, the only accelerator which focuses exclusively on the technological startups of tourism in Greece, we make one more step ahead. In the parameters of the legal advisor of the State for tourism issues, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels becomes the Legal Supporter of the initiative “Elevate Greece”, contributing in the national goal for the creation of a powerful ecosystem of startups in our country, providing with our participation a special focus on the digital upgrade of Hospitality. The hospitality sector- as every leader in our days should do- shows the road which leads in innovation, creativity, in the smart development of businesses, on the economy of knowledge and talent with benefits for everyone and especially for the new generation.”
