JUDGE & MENTOR
Nikos Stathis holds a B.Sc in International and European Economic Studies from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki and also a M.Sc in International Tourism Marketing from Oxford Brookes University. He has a 13-year experience in hospitality in various positions. Currently he’s serving as Quality, Safety & Sustainability Manager at H Hotels Collection, being responsible for six 4* and 5* properties in Rhodes, Greece.
His main tasks include Health & Safety procedures and audits, certifications and quality schemes (ISO 9001, 22000, 14001) and also sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Alongside with his daily tasks, he is an active member of the society, trying to bring cultural, environmental and societal aspects of tourism in the agenda in order to assist fellow citizens and hospitality professionals understand that Greece needs a transition shift from the ongoing stereotypical tourism product to the new era’s needs and demands in experiential traveling.
He has been cooperating with several Organizations over the last years, inter alia with Tourism Sector of New Democracy for the party’s official plan for tourism; with Synpraxis, a youth think-tank over policy making in Greece and also RICHeS – Rhodes International Culture & Heritage Society.
