Stylianos (Stelios) Filopoulos is Founder and Managing Director of Association By Design, advising international associations, destinations and event organisations on strategy, governance, innovation and stakeholder engagement. He has over 20 years of international experience and has served as Secretary General and Board Director of European and international associations.

His work in the meetings and destination sector includes projects with Copenhagen Convention Bureau, MeetDenmark, visit.brussels, This is Athens, TCB, ICCA, IBTM World/RX, INCON-PCO, with a focus on helping destinations understand association needs and maximise the value and impact of congresses.

Previously, he led Wine in Moderation, a global corporate social responsibility programme for the wine sector, with a network of national members in 17 countries across Europe and South America and activities worldwide. He also represented the organisation within UN Tourism, including its Sustainability Working Group, and contributed to the Global Conference on Wine Tourism.

He holds degrees in Food Technology, Wine Management, European Studies and International Association Management. He is a regular speaker at international congresses and has delivered lectures at universities and business schools. He is also the only IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator (CPF) based in Greece.
