Hmm… Could you tell us a little bit more about it?
Narratologies is an IoT platform and a mobile app, offering gamified experiences of self-guided cultural discovery in the city center. Travelers get the opportunity to participate in interactive exploration games and get in touch with the local community while strolling around small artisan shops or hunting hidden story gems. By providing authoring tools for creative content creation, we collaborate with local content providers to offer a genuine and fun experience for the visitors while reinforcing local economies.
What problem/issue are you trying to solve?
City break travelers have difficulty finding genuine entertaining experiences of local discovery. This difficulty could be especially highlighted when it comes to millennial families, as young children can more easily give up to fatigue or loss of interest during a vacation activity. Also, time and budget limitations trying to meet all desires and tastes is a fact. There is also a gap in promoting the entertainment urban culture of the city life which leads to a large shortage into today’s travelers experiential needs and consequently does not foster satisfaction and repetitiveness. The hospitality and travel sector seem to be the main segments to face this arousing demand of experiential entertainment.
What’s the solution provided by Narratologies?
Narratologies builds an IoT platform and mobile app. The app initially functions as an alternative mobile urban tour guide in the form of an open city game. It uses AR technology features and gamification elements to offer personalized experiences of cultural urban discovery. City travelers succeed in learning local myths & stories, experience new team building activities and shop traditional goods, making on spot their personalized itinerary through the process of play. Local merchants increase visibility while the hospitality sector gets a new tool for offering unique customer experiences and communicate with their customers by integrating reviews, advertising special offers, events and prizes of the game.
