Starting his career 20 years ago, Filippos Zampelis realized that tourism was the industry that he could perfectly fit in. His first steps were at the F&B department at the Grande Bretagne as Assistant Waiter and then at the Sales and Marketing Department at Novotel Athens as Sales Coordinator. It was then when he decided that he had to do his MBA in the UK.
After finishing his MBA, he started his career in Front Office at Renaissance Manchester as Telephone Operator, then as Front Office Agent and was promoted as Shift Leader. In 2007, as the Renaissance Manchester is part of Marriott, he got the chance to move at the Marriot La Sella in Spain.
In 2009, after coming back to Greece, he decided to try again the Sales Department, so he joined the team of Airotel Group. And in 2010, the year of the Costa Navarino opening, he joined the team of Front Office as Assistant Front Office Manager at The Westin.
Finally, right after his position as Front Office Manager at The Romanos, A Luxury Collection Resort, the last two and a half years, he’s holding the position of Hotel Manager at Semiramis, Kefalari Suites and Twentyone at Yes! Hotels.
One of his greatest assets is that he gives to his team all the room to develop their own initiatives and family bonds with the guests.
Being present at the reception and the areas where both guests and staff are, he imparts his managerial philosophy as well as the brand orientation and values to the hotel staff in the most illustrative and practical ways.
