CapsuleT in Heraklion Crete with its startups!
The CapsuleT Accelerator continues its dynamic activities with another impressive on-site visit, this time in Heraklion, Crete. On October 24th and 25th, 14 teams from both the current and previous accelerator cycles had the opportunity to experience the local tourism industry firsthand and present innovative solutions that can contribute to the overall enhancement of hotel and tourism services.
The first day began with the event “New Technologies in Hospitality and Tourism,” held in collaboration with the Heraklion Hotels Association at the luxurious Cactus Royal Spa & Resort Hotel. The goal of this event was to showcase innovative solutions and technological applications that can improve hotel operations, enhance guest experience, and promote tourism sustainability.
During the event, six distinguished startups from the CapsuleT program—HotelToolbox, kleesto, PrimeHost, Star Sleep, Tourmie, Vivestia,—presented their services and products to industry professionals and discussed the latest technology trends. The event concluded with a live B2B networking session, offering teams and professionals the chance to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.
We were also joined by the 10 teams of the 7th acceleration cycle: Epivatis, GRS Green Room System, Hype, iSPACE, Menufi, SmartInn.ai, WASTECLOUD, and WeTip.
We extend special thanks to the Heraklion Hotel Association and President Mr. Nikos Chalkiadakis for co-hosting the event, as well as to the Director, Mr. Nikos Fountoulakis, and Ms. Nadia Timiolaki, Vice President of the Heraklion Hotel Association, for their support and presence.
The second day was dedicated to on-site visits to some of Heraklion’s most notable tourism infrastructures.
The day started with a tour of the Cretan Brewery Candia Beer, where CapsuleT teams were briefed on how innovation can be applied in local production. Later, they visited the iconic Creta Maris Resort, including a tour of the hotel and the “Mikis Theodorakis” Conference Center, to see how new technologies can be integrated into large-scale tourism facilities.
The afternoon continued with a visit to Crete Golf Club, one of Crete’s premier golf destinations, and concluded at Amirandes Grecotel Boutique Resort, a five-star hotel popular with tourists and travelers from across the country.
These two innovation-packed days, filled with discussions and networking, gave CapsuleT teams the chance to connect closely with Crete’s tourism professionals, showcase their ideas, and exchange insights on how new technologies can transform the Greek hospitality sector.
Stay tuned as CapsuleT continues to foster connections between startups and local markets, looking forward to future actions and initiatives that will drive further technological progress in tourism and hospitality!
